The Razor’s Edge

December 16th, 2009

“No man ever achieved worthwhile success who did not at one time or other find himself with at least one foot hanging well over the brink of failure.” Napoleon Hill

Man that’s a great quote!
It says it all.
How many times on the road to success have you felt that way?
Gotta keep your head clear and focused on the task at hand and the goal in sight at all times.
In the movie ‘The Razor’s Edge’ Bill Murray is searching for enlightenment, and when he finally gets his epiphany, he decides to leave the monastery.
The head monk in talking with him finds out his reason: “It’s easy to be a holy man on a mountain” says Murray, the holy man responds: “all else is the razors edge”.
It kind of feels that way on the entrepreneurial path sometimes.
Hell or high water I’m going to succeed in this business venture!
Then the universe tests you, throws things like money shortages at you, illness, family saying things like: “I told you so” and the list goes on…
It’s the same razor’s edge.
Are you going to fall off that vision, that dream of a better life, and fall back into that safe comfy drudgery called a J.O.B(Just Over Broke)?
That’s the balancing act on the razor’s edge, to keep laser focused on your goal of enlightenment, success, victory!
I think that’s true about most things in life is to keep a balance of the spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental.
Life is full of distractions, but if we can keep the faith, hold the vision, we might just arrive at the destination we are seeking.

“It’s easy to have faith in yourself and have discipline when you’re a winner, when you’re number one. What you’ve got to have is faith and discipline when you’re not yet a winner.” Vince Lombardi

Are Your Decisions Hurting You?

December 13th, 2009

“Explain to people that everything they say is an affirmation. Everything they think is an affirmation. Everything! What you want to do is to get control of what you are saying and thinking, so these things bring you good experiences in life rather than rotten experiences.” Louise Hay

The other day I was building an igloo with my 2 sons, one is 4 and the other is 2. Well we started with only 1 snow shovel; then when the boys joined me I quickly realized that we needed more shovels for their enjoyment in helping dad.
Now in building this igloo, I decided we would just pile up the snow into a huge mound, then when it set up we would dig out the center.
My 2 year old can be very stubborn. When I tried to give him my special camping shovel(just his size) he refused it, threw a fit actually.
Well then I thought, I’ll just offer it to the older one, which he gladly accepted.
Boy did that really make my 2 year old mad! He threw himself all over the ground, screaming the whole time!
I had to question at what point do kids realize that their decisions have consequences?
Then I wondered how many of US ever realize the consequences of the decisions we are making?
What about the ones we refuse to make?
Every decision we make or don’t make will take us closer or farther away from the things we want in our lives.
Say you want to make an extra $1000 a month, is continuing in your regular habit of watching TV 4 hours a night going to help with creating a new flow of income in your life? Or are you going to take some of that time and build a new business to get you that extra income?
To create the wonderful life you are wanting, your have to regularly review your goals and figure out if your daily decisions are taking you closer to them or farther away, and then decide accordingly.
Things don’t change unless you CHOOSE and ACT differently than you have in the past.

With all the teachings of The Law Of Attraction, and The Secret, the thing is, you can visualize and dream your ideal life and put it out to the universe, but without the second part of attr-ACTION then you are only a day dreamer.
So right now decide you are going to take ACTION on your goals, and go for it!
Take massive action, and your life will never be the same.
I guarantee it!
